Growland Footscray Security Fence Renovation

In August 2026, Hyline renovated a damaged chain mesh security fence for Growland in Footscray. Extensive overgrowth and soil erosion had buried sections of the existing boundary fence, leaving the site insecure and making the renovation a challenging job.

The scope included removing approximately 116m of damaged chain wire, along with damaged posts and barbed wires. Existing gate frames also had their chain mesh and barbed wires removed.

New posts were installed where required, followed by 2100mm high 50 × 3.15mm knuckle-barb galvanised chain mesh. The system uses cranked posts, three Waratah barbed wires, three 4mm galvanised helicoil cables and compression rails where required.

Clearing the way for a secure boundary

Before the new fence could be installed, the team needed access to sections that had been engulfed by vegetation and soil. Hyline worked alongside Attrill Earthworks to clear the fence line enough for the replacement posts and new mesh to be installed.

That coordination allowed the team to tackle the difficult site conditions and restore the boundary with new galvanised chain mesh and barbed wire.
